The Common Admission Test (CAT) has been given a complete makeover this year with respect to a brand new format. CAT dates have been declared as October 22 and November 18, 2011.
According to an official statement announced by Prometric, CAT 2011 will have two sections instead of the usual three and students will be given an additional five minutes for completing the test.
The first section will test the students' quantitative ability and data interpretation and the second will test their verbal ability and logical reasoning.
The total time given to students to complete the test will be 140 minutes; 70 minutes to answer 30 questions under each section with an on-screen countdown timer.
Once the time ends for the first section, they would have to move on to the second section and wont be allowed to go back.
A 15-minute tutorial shall be added to guide the students through the process and new format.
