IIT-B: Curfew for straight but not for gays?

IITB:-Curfew-for-straight-but-not-for-gays
You wouldnt expect straight people to be fighting for their rights whereas gay people getting it easy, in today's day and age, would you? But welcome to lala land AKA IIT-Bombay where straight couples are not allowed to visit each other late nights whereas the same restriction isnt applied to homosexuals.
Yes, indeed it is baffling! But IIT-Bombay, in its endeavour to make the campus an all inclusive one and express its acceptance of the gay community started the LGBT support group last month. This was done in order to give an opportunity to students belonging to the community to interact with each other and perhaps even find their partners. But IIT-B also continued with its old rule of deadline of 10 pm for boys visiting girls' hostel and vice versa. This has upset the straight couples as more and more of them are now asserting their right of being able to visit their partners after 10 pm and that the gay couples also should be restricted in that case.
This has been a raging issue among boys who have found girlfriends on campus but cannot visit them beyond the deadline. At the same time, they see their gay peers visiting their partners. While the students appreciate that there is an LGBT group on compus, they are also upset that the community is being given too many powers in order to make them feel included.
The students have called for a meeting with the director and are expected to bring up this issue which is now turning into a war of sorts on campus.
